Yannick Schepers (1986) is a Belgian photographer working at the intersection of intuition and analysis. His images emerge from moments that move him, often unexpectedly, sometimes impulsively, and deepen as he traces why a single detail continues to resonate.
In his practice, he searches for closeness, vulnerability, and the quiet space between what is seen and what is felt. His work shifts between documentary photography and a more lyrical, poetic sensitivity. He follows the adventure of an encounter or a story, while building enough structure to support his intuitive way of working.
The project highlights the talents and stories of people facing financial challenges through photovoice and collective learning. Schepers joined as a freelancer and later became a permanent member of the team.
He created series about poverty, housing insecurity, and human resilience, as well as more personal work about his own family and the dreamy, everyday moments that shape their lives. His small editions are carefully produced and always accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
At the moment, he is at a turning point in his practice. He is exploring stillness photography exploring silence as a layered space, as tension, as rest, as memory. This exploration forms the foundation of a new long-term project that is currently taking shape.
